Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 2026-07-11

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the symbiont.audio website and related public surfaces ("Website"), provided by Astral Space Lab ("Provider"). By accessing the Website, you agree to these Terms. Use of the SYMBIONT software is governed by the End User License Agreement.

1. Website Use

The Website describes the research program and the SYMBIONT instrument, documents license tiers (Trial, STUDIO, COMPLETE, FELLOW), and may facilitate trial access and digital acquisition. Use the Website only for its intended purposes and in compliance with applicable law.

2. Accounts & Purchases

The Software is supplied as a digital download only (no physical media, no postal delivery). Licenses (STUDIO, COMPLETE, FELLOW, and upgrades) are requested by email; payment method and electronic delivery of the license key and download are confirmed in that exchange. There is no public card storefront on this Website. You are responsible for safeguarding any license key issued to you.

If card checkout is introduced later, it may be processed by a Merchant of Record; this page will be updated accordingly.

Public founding prices (USD): STUDIO $512, COMPLETE $768, FELLOW $1,536. Details: #acquire and 特定商取引法に基づく表記.

3. Trial

Trial is a free download for fourteen (14) days inside the application, subject to the EULA (limited nodes + Console, 384 kHz, no recording). Abuse of trial access (including repeated reinstalls to evade expiry) may result in refusal of further trial entitlements.

4. Intellectual Property

Website content — text, graphics, icons, software descriptions, and design — is the property of Astral Space Lab unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce or create derivative works from Website content without prior written permission, except for fair quotation with attribution.

5. User Conduct

You may not:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Website or its infrastructure.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system behind the Website.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract bulk data beyond ordinary browsing.
  • Submit false or misleading information through any form or email channel.

6. Communications

Email about license, download, research, or education is handled for that purpose. Optional mailing lists, if offered, include an unsubscribe path. Research and education contact is welcome as described on #acquire.

7. Third-Party Services

Typography on the Website is self-hosted (no Google Fonts CDN). No analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies are used by the Provider on the marketing surface.

8. Disclaimer of Warranty

The Website is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. The Provider does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Website.

10. Refunds

Eligible purchases include a 30-day money-back path as described in the Refund Policy. Digital sales are refunded by the Provider under that window unless a different written term was agreed for that sale. Upon refund, the license is deactivated.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.

12. Changes

The Provider may modify these Terms. The "Last updated" date on this page will change when material revisions are published. Continued use of the Website after that date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
